USF Men Win On Buzzer Beater, Women Roll Again (VIDEO)

MT. VERNON, Ohio (21 Alive) - Austin Fox couldn't have been any more wiley taking a perfect inbounds pass from University of Saint Francis center Kyle Sovine to score the winning layup with 0.3 seconds to play giving the No. 8-ranked Cougars a pulsating 69-68 win at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday.

The length-of-the-court pass from Sovine to Fox vaulted USF into first place alone in the Crossroads League with an 8-2 record. USF improved to 16-6 overall.

Josh Hogan led USF scoring with 17 points, Fox finished with 15, Scott Kohne posted a double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and Sovine finished with 10 points.

The No. 1 NAIA Division II Lady Cougars rocked Mount Vernon Nazarene 102-66 Saturday, winning their 22nd straight, and moving to 10-0 in Crossroads League play.

Paige Frisch led USF with 19 points while Jenelle Wilson became the 19th women in the 40-year history of the program to score 1,000 or more points in career.

Wilson finished with 10 points and stands at 1,001.

Skylarr Shurn and Brooke Ridley scored 16 points apiece and Kalah Baer added 10.

USF resumes play at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Taylor.
