FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The 2014 group of Fort Wayne TinCaps were introduced to the Summit City over the weekend.

The TinCaps roster rolled into town Sunday, and the franchise had its annual media day on Monday.

The players are getting acclimated to Parkview Field and this part of the country--or world--quickly.

One TinCap is already used to his surroundings: Josh VanMeter. The former Norwell High School star was drafted last year by the San Diego Padres, and begins his professional career with the 'Caps.

The TinCaps will host a Meet The Team Night on Wednesday, giving fans the opportunity to meet this year's team.

Then season No. 6 for the TinCaps (season No. 22 of professional baseball in Fort Wayne) kicks off Thursday night at Parkview Field at 7 p.m. against Great Lakes.
