LANSING, Mich. (21 Alive) - Lansing pitchers combined to fan twelve TinCaps hitters and scatted five hits as the Lugnuts took the opener of their four games series with the Caps 4-2 Monday night

Lansing starter Tom Robson was particularly effective, allowing a first inning triple to Mallex Smith that led to a run, then retiring 17 straight before a single by smith in the sixth, Robson's final inning.

A Dustin Peterson sacrifice fly scored Smith in the first, and Dane Phillips singled in the other Fort Wayne run in the seventh.

Game 2 of the four game series is Tuesday at 10:35 am.
