Tide Tops 2013 Preseason College Football Poll

TYSON CORNERS, Va. (www.incnow.tv) - USA Today released its preseason college football Top 25 coaches poll Thursday with a usual slate of perennial powerhouses.

Reigning BCS National Champions Alabama is ranked No. 1. The Crimson Tide garnered 58 of the 62 first place votes.

Behind Alabama is Ohio State at No. 2, and had 3 first place votes. The Buckeyes finished the 2012 season undefeated, but were ineligible for the BCS rankings, the Big Ten Championship and a bowl bid due to NCAA sanctions.

Texas A&M, preaseason No. 6, is the only other team to receive a first place vote.

Notre Dame ranks No. 11, right behind Florida and the rest of the Top 10. The Fightin' Irish come off a dream season that finished with a drubbing in the BCS title game.

Other Big Ten teams included in the rankings: Michigan (No. 17), Nebraska (No. 18), Northwestern (No. 22) and league champions Wisconsin (No. 23).
