(Fort Wayne, Indiana) -- The University of St. Francis survived a wild finish to hang on for a 38 - 37 victory over St. Ambrose in a showdown between two of the N.A.I.A.'s top ten teams. With USF leading 38 - 31 late in the game, St. Ambrose scored to make it 38 - 36. The Fighting Bees went for a two - point conversion, but missed and the Cougars were still up by one. St. Ambrose had one final chance to win the game, but a field goal attempt was wide as time expired and USF held on the for the victory to improve to 2 - 0 for the season. St. Ambrose fell to 1 - 1.
