FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Two of Snider High School's longest-serving coaches will be honored as hall of famers.
Russ Isaacs and Russ Bush were introduced Thursday at a press conference at Snider as inductees into the Indiana Football Coaches Association Region 3 Hall of Fame class of 2014.
Isaacs, currently Snider's athletic director, was head football coach from 1991 to 2008, and led the Panthers to the 1992 IHSAA 5A Football State Championship. "Ike," as he's known, won 85.8% (194-32) of his games in 18 seasons. He also was wrestling head coach from 1976 to 1983.
Bush is a longtime assistant head coach for Snider football in a career that spans four decades. Bush was also a standout football player and track runner at Elmhurst High School, graduating in 1967. Bush played for Elmhurst when Snider played its first ever football game against the Trojans. He was a Snider coach against the Trojans in Elmhurst's final football game.
Both Isaacs (38 years) and Bush (43 years) are retiring at the end of the school year.
The Region 3 enshrinement will be June 11.
