Norwell Reaches 3A State Baseball Final; Northfield Tops Adams Central For 2A Berth (VIDEO)

KOKOMO, Indiana (www.incnow.tv) - Third ranked Norwell reached the 3A state baseball final with a semi-state win Saturday, and 2A defending state champ top rankedNorthfield won a chance to repeat their 2012 state title.

Norwell spotted Western an early 2-0 lead and then rallied for a 5-2 win to claim a spot opposite Jasper in the 3A final next weekend at Indianapolis Victory Field.

Tailur Szarenski had four hits and Josh VanMeter fanned twelve in leading the Knights to state.

Ryan Keaffaber allowed just one run and drove in an early run as well as Northfield ended the season of Adams Central with a 5-1 win over the Flying Jets in the 2A semi-state game,

Northfield will attempt to win its second straight state title next weekend against South Spencer.
