UNDATED (www.incnow.tv) - New Haven and Leo took key boys basketball wins Saturday night that enhanced their chances of conference titles.

V.J. Beachem netted netted 23 points and Monte Stevenson 16 to lead New Haven past Homestead 82-70, handing the Spartans their first Northeast Hoosier Conference loss and winning themselves for the seventh straight time.

Nick Gamble and Caleb "Biggie" Swanigan each had 17 for the Spartans.

Both teams are now 5-1 in the NHC, each has one conference game left, and they would share the NHC title if they remained tied.

At Leo, Sam Waters clicked for 21 points and Adam Davidson 18 on six three pointed to power the Lions to a 75-60 win over Adams Central, who got a game high 28 from Dalton Combs.

The Leo win, coupled with Bluffton's 47-40 loss at Heritage, leaves the Lions alone at the top of the Allen County Athletic Conference with a key game at Bluffton remaining next week.
