FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Bishop Luers High School announced Friday that Mark Pixley is the new girls basketball coach.

Pixley served as the Luers boys basketball junior varsity coach last year, and spent two seasons as Eastside High School's varsity girls basketball coach from 2010-12.

From 2004-2007, Pixley was head coach at Carlsbad (Calif.) High School, leading his team to a Divison 1 state runner-up finish in 2005.

Pixley replaces Denny Renier, who stepped down after 5 years as head coach and 27 years with the girls basketball program overall.
