Luers Tips North; Snider, South Concordia Notch Victories

FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Defense and special teams carried Luers to victory Friday night, while Snider, South Side, and Concordia were all on the winning side of the SAC ledger.

Chance Young returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown and Michael Rogers brought a punt back 34 yards for a score as Luers tipped North Side 22-0, despite three touchdown passes by the Redskins' C.J. Jackson, two of them to Anthony Linnear.

Je'Norie Smith totaled 205 rushing yards with four touchdowns in leading Snider to their 66-51 shootout win over Elkhart Central. Brandon Phelps added three touchdown passes for the Panthers, who prevailed despite 434 passing yards and five touchdown throws by Nick Faus of the visiting Blue Blazers.

Donovan Clark ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns while Aaron Thomas added 102 yards on the ground with a score in South Side's 33-10 win over Wayne.

David Morrison threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns and Michael Hicks chalked up 128 rushing yards with a score in Concordia's 28-21 victory over Northrop.
