FORT WAYNE, Indiana (www.incnow.tv) - Ten year old Avery Greider of Fort Wayne is about to enjoy an opportunity in baseball few kids her age ever will.

Avery heads to New York this weekend to compete in the National Pitch, Hit, and Run Finals, Major League Baseball's version of the National Football League Punt, Pass and Kick program.

She won all her preliminary competitions, including those at Parkview Field and U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, and her time in baserunning, and scores in accuracy hitting, and throwing accuracy placed in the top three nationally in her age group, putting her in the national finals Monday at Citi Field in New York.

And part of the reward in going is being part of the group that will shag the non home runs in the MLB Home Run Derby Monday night.
