Leo, Woodlan Take Girls Basketball Season Openers

UNDATED (21 Alive) - Leo and Woodlan claimed girls basketball wins in their season openers Friday night.

Leo overcame an eleven point first quarter deficit and outscored Carroll 24-9 in the fourth quarter to top the visiting Chargers 65-61.

Jenna Beer's 26 points topped the victorious Lions, while Madison Peterson led Carroll with 17.

Woodlan made new coach Gary Cobb a winner in his first game with a 56-38 as Brooke Gerbers had 16 points and Haley Hostetler 13.

Amanda Hunter's 14 points led the Squaws.
