FORT WAYNE (www.incnow.tv) - The Kane County Cougars rallied for three runs in the eighth inning and salvaged the final game of the three game series with the TinCaps with a 5-3 win Saturday night.
RBI hits in the first inning by Dane Phillips and Jeremy Baltz staked Justin Hancock to an early 2-0 lead, and Hancock exited the game after six innings with it tied at 2-2.
But in the eighth, reliever Erik Cabrera's wildness did the Caps in as Cabrera walked two and allowed a hit before wild pitching home the tiebreaking run, the first of three he gave up in the inning.
The TinCaps opena three game series with the Clinton Lumberkings on Sunday.
