November 11, 2012 Updated Nov 11, 2012 at 10:46 PM EST

UNDATED (www.incnow.tv) - The loss by top ranked Alabama Saturday to Texas A&M had a rippling effect on college rankings Sunday, and Notre Dame got a lift from that effect.

The Irish climbed to third in both the media and coaches polls, and got one first place vote in each, with that lobe first place vote in the coaches poll coming from Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly.

Then later Sunday, Notre Dame was ranked third in the new Bowl Championship Series rankings.

In each of the three polls, Oregon and Kansas State are 1-2, and Alabama fell to fourth in the media poll and BCS rankings, and fifth in the coaches poll.
