IPFW Men Beat South Dakota State; Women Lose To SDSU (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) IPFW's basketball men 14-5 overall and 2-0 in the Summit League, with their 82-75 win over defending Summit League Champion South Dakota State on Saturday night.

Luis Jacobo tied a season-high with 24 points, as the 'Dons continued their best start to a season in the team's NCAA Division I era, and the fourth-best overall.

Steve Forbes scored 16, while Mo Evans and Joe Reed each added eleven points.

IPFW outrebounded South Dakota State 36-29.

The win for IPFW snapped an eight-game SDSU win streak in the all-time series between the schools, while capping a Jackrabbit five-game win streak. The win also gives IPFW its third win streak of four games or more this year.

South Dakota State was led by a career-high effort from Brayden Carlson, who scored 24, while Jordan Dykstra scored 18.

The Mastodons return to action on Thursday at Denver.

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Despite a 14-0 run to start the game, IPFW's women dropped a 77-60 decision at defending Summit League champ South Dakota State Saturday night.

Amanda Hyde led all scorers with 26 points while Haley Seibert knocked down 16, but the rest of the team totaled just 18 points.

The Mastodons host Denver in their Summit League home opener on Thursday night in the first ever meeting between the teams.
