FORT WAYNE (www.incnow.tv) - IPFW baseball picked up a 5-4 victory over Oakland Saturday at Mastodon Field.

Game two of the doubleheader came to a halt after six full innings with IPFW leading 5-4, to be resumed on Sunday.

Clay Hathaway was 3 for 3 with three RBI's and a run scored for IPFw, while Caleb Fenimore was 2 for 4 with two RBI's and Kristian Gayday 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

Oakland played as the home team even though IPFW hosted. The Mastodons will play as the home team on Sunday.

In softball, IPFW gave up six runs in the top of the eighth inning, earning back two in the bottom of the inning, but could not make up the entire amount as the North Dakota State Bison completed the series sweep of the Mastodons on Saturday 8-4.

Ashleigh Bousquet was a perfect 4 for 4 for the Mastodons, scoring once and driving in a run while Brittany Kachur was 2-for-5.

The Mastdons were their own worst enemies with four errors in a game that was tied 2-2 through the regulation seven innings.

Ashleigh Bousquet and Dani Pugh hit back to back home runs in the eight for IPFW.
