Homestead Rolls; Columbia City, DeKalb, Bellmont, Woodlan, Garrett Open Successfully (VIDEO)

UNDATED (21 Alive) - Homestead won big on opening night Friday, and Columbia City, DeKalb, Bellmont, Woodlan, and Garrett also triumphed in their openers.

Logan Ormsby threw for a school record 421 yards and six touchdowns in Homestead's 49-6 romp over Huntington North.

Ben Skowronek hauled in foru of Ormsby's scoring passes and totaled 208 receiving yards, also a school record.

Bolstered by the arrival of former Eagle running back Sam Dailey, who arrived with the game ball via helicopter a year after suffering a serious head injury on opening night in 2013, Columbia City went on to a 33-21 win over Warsaw.

DeKalb, winless last season and winless on opening night since 2005, ended both streaks with their 26-7 win at Angola.

Bellmont rolled up a 45-13 win over county rival Adams Central in Monroe.

Shawn Kitzmiller ran for 229 yards and three touchdowns and Mitch Van Brocklin totaled 170 yards with two scores in Woodlan's 57-33 win at Eastside.

The Warriors had 509 rushing yards in the game.

Bryit Sumner ran for 136 yards and a score in Garrett's 39-7 blasting of Prairei Heights.
