FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The 21Alive/Parkview Sports Medicine Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 6 is Homestead High School guard Karissa McLaughlin.

McLaughlin, a 5'8" freshman, played a perfect game Saturday night at DeKalb. She went 12-for-12-from the field, including 7-for-7 from behind the 3-point line. McLaughlin scored 31 points as the Lady Spartans won the Northeast Hoosier Conference Championship.

McLaughlin is averaging 17 points per game, and says she continues to work on her defense now that she is playing at the high school level.

McLaughlin is the daughter of former Churubusco High School and Grace College standout Bert McLaughlin.
