FORT WAYNE, Indiana (21 Alive) - Mike Ditka, the Pro Football Hall of Famer as a coach and player with the Chicago Bears, spent Sunday night in Fort Wayne as part of the Neal Delagrange Golf Event and Gala Auction at Autumn Ridge Golf Club.

Ditka, who came on his own as a favor to long time friend and Fort Wayne realtor Mike Thomas, helped draw a crowd that forked over more than $83,000 for auction items, and Ditka himself gave an inspiring talk to the crowd.

On the football side, he thought both the Bears and the Colts are on the uptick, and he thinks the trend toward less contact in football is not going to help the game.
