FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Concordia Lutheran High School volleyball team heads into the ever IHSAA State Finals on Saturday focused on the task at hand.

"We're down there to take care of business," head coach Trisha Miller says. "We didn't work this hard and come this far to fall short of what our goals are."

The Cadets' goal has become winning their first 3A state championship against Indianapolis Brebeuf Jesuit (3A No. 9), something players say the entire team has bought into more and more throughout the season.

Concordia (3A No. 7) punched their tickets state with four-set semi-state victory over 3A No. 1 Mishawaka Marian. The Cadets also knocked off 3A No. 3 New Prairie in the semi-state semi-final match.

The tournament run has given Concordia momentum and confidence for one more match.

"They need to stop us," middle blocker Te'ayla Whitfield says. "We just focus on what we need to do, and the best things that we can do on the court."

Still, the Cadets are taking the Lady Braves seriously.

"We're definitely going to work little strategies against their hitters, and what they run on defense," middle blocker Tionna Williams says.

Concordia has lost only four sets in six tournament matches. The Cadets are hopeful that solid play continues 3:00 Saturday at Ball State University's Worthen Arena.
