Ball State Whips Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Jahwan Edwards scored three rushing touchdowns to lead a powerful Ball State offense in a 51 - 20 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday. The performance by Ball State, 3 - 1, 1 - 0 MAC, against Eastern Michigan, 1 - 3, 0 - 1 MAC, showed why the Cardinals entered the game with the top - ranked scoring offense in the Mid - American Conference.

The Ball State offense hurt the Eagles with four first - quarter touchdowns. Edwards had a 36 - yard touchdown run to open the scoring for Ball State and the Cardinals held a double - digit lead for the remainder of the game after the first - quarter scores.

Ball State's Keith Wenning threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns. Wenning has passed for more than 300 yards in all four Ball State games this season.
