BNL Smacks South Side Girls, Homestead Wins NHC Girls Title; Canterbury Boys Trims Concordia; Saturday HS Hoops Scores (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - 4A defending state champ and top ranked Bedford-North Lawrence handed South Side a 49-28 girls basketball home loss Saturday.

The Stars, coached by former BNL star, IU great, and Fort Wayne Fury standout Damon Bailey, ran off to a big early lead and never looked back.

South Side suffered through a tough shooting day, and was led by Chelsea Rogers' nine points.

Sammy Dillman led BNL with eleven

Karissa McLaughlin scored 22 points and Sydney Buck and Josie Fisher 16 each as Homestead won the Northeast Hoosier Conference girls title with an 82-47 rout of DeKalb.

Hayley Martin's 14 points paced the Lady Barons.

Andrew Kus scored 21 points and grabbed twelve rbounds in leading the Canterbury boys' 82-72 win over Concordia, who were led by the 17 points of D.J. McCall.
