OSSIAN, Ind. (21Alive) - The Norwell High School football team hopes to avoid another slow start out of the gates in 2014.
The Knights have started 0-6, 0-9 and 0-5 respectively in the past three seasons. But a corner may have been turned for Norwell, which won six straight games in the second half the season.
Norwell returns eight starters on both sides of the ball. Head coach Jeff Miller hopes that experience helps turnover margins: the offense protecting the ball, and the defense knocking the ball loss.
Quarterback/linebacker Piercen Harnish is the undeniable leader of the team: 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns rushing, 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air and the anchor of the defense.
Offensively, receivers Reggie Hayes, Nathan Burrows and Jeremy Davis should catch a lot of passes from Harnish; and Adam Nahrwold should will rush behind an up-and-coming offensive line.
