FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) - Concordia Lutheran High School's football program has taken its lumps over the past decade; but this season could be a memorable one for the Cadets.

While Concordia has only won four games in the past three seasons, there is a core group of experienced seniors ready for one last go-around.

"Some of these guys will be starting for their fourth year," head coach Tim Mannigel says. "That's kind of unheard of. Certainly, they're not going to be scared of anything." Mannigel also enters year No. 4 at Concordia.

Ball State commit David Morrison returns as starting quarterback. He threw for 18 touchdowns and nearly 2,000 yards as a junior. He will take snaps behind an offensive line that returns four of five starters from a year ago.

That experience should help offset the Cadets' lack of depth in contrast to some opponents.

"We don't have as many players as some of the 5A teams on our schedule," linebacker Tony Perugini says. "Being able to get people opportune breaks during the games to keep everybody fresh--and utilize them properly--will help us."

"We got a good, strong senior class. But we're going to have to rely on some of the underclassmen for our team to finish games," running back John Poor adds.

Concordia believes it has a good season in them, and the senior-led team looks to give it one final push.
