Komets Clinch Playoff Berth With Win Over Evansville

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Fort Wayne Komets will return to the postseason after a year absence.

The K's beat Evansville, 4-3, on Friday night to clinch a spot in the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Christian Ouellett scored 2 of the 4 Komet goals. Mike Embach and Scott Fleming also scored for the K's.

It will be the Komets' first appearance in the ECHL's playoffs, and 53rd playoff appearance all-time.

Tickets for Games 1 and 2 of the first round of the playoffs go on sale at noon Saturday at Memorial Coliseum ticket office.
