FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Fort Wayne Komets were involved in a number of player transactions on Thursday.
The Komets acquired forward Aaron Clarke from Orlando as part of the future considerations portion of the Mickey Lang trade. Clark, 31, is in his 7th professional season. He's played a total of 51 games this seasons split between Kalamazoo and Toledo.
The K's acquired forward Mitch Bruijsten from Stockton in exchange for future considerations. Bruijsten, 24, is in his first professional season, spending time in Mississippi of the SPHL before playing 26 games for Stockton. He scored 6 goals and 15 assists with the Thunder
Defenseman Jordon Southorn has been loaned to Portland Pirates of the AHL. Southorn leads the Komets' defenemen with 10 goals and 16 assists this season.
The Komets also waived defenseman Jeremy Gates. Gates scored 5 assists in 31 games.
The K's agreed to terms with defenseman Matt Bruneteau. Bruneteau, 23, of Omaha, Neb., comes from Lake Superior State University, where he scored 3 goals, 15 assists in 4 seasons.
Forward Dean Ouellett was placed on the 21-day injured reserve, effective Mar. 9.
