DeKalb Hires Pete Kempf As Head Coach

WATERLOO, Ind. (21Alive) - Pete Kempf has been named DeKalb High School's new football head coach.

Kempf's hiring was approved Tuesday night at the DeKalb County Central Untied School District board meeting.


Kempf, 30, comes to DeKalb from East Noble High School, where he served as defensive coordinator. He also served as boys track & field head coach and teaches in the social studies department.

He has also previously been head coach of the Carroll boys track & field and Huntington North High School golf teams, according to an East Noble biography.


A 2002 DeKalb graduate, Kempf was an All-Northeast Hoosier Conference, Class 4A 1st Team All-State and Academic All-State defensive end for the Barons.

He played collegiately at Wabash Collge.
