FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A day after suspending center Mickey Lang and forward Mike Vaskivuo for leaving the team, Fort Wayne Komets traded Lang Saturday.

Lang was delt to the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for center David Rutherford and future considerations.

Rutherford, 26, of Ladner, British Columbia, Canada, is in his six professional season. Through 21 games with Orlando, Rutherford scored 6 goals and 9 points.

Rutherford had previous stints with Charlotte, Phoenix and Florida of the ECHL, Bossier-Shreveport of the CHL and Charlotte of the AHL. He was a member of the 2011 Presidents' Cup team in Bossier-Shreveport.

Lang is in his third professional season, coming from Quad City to Fort Wayne this year. Lang is the leading goal scorer in the ECHL (17 goals through 24 games).
