FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Homestead High School and Carroll High School have been invited to join the Summit Athletic Conference, according to reports.
Greg Jones at The Journal Gazette reported Friday that the invitation is only for football, boys basketball and girls basketball teams at both schools.
Homestead and Carroll reportedly have until Dec. 20 to accept the offer.
Athletic directors and coaches at both schools would not comment on the report.
The Spartans and Chargers were the two schools left hanging after the other six Northeast Hoosier Conference members voted to disband and form a new conference with Leo High School and Huntington North School beginning in 2015.
