FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants started season No. 7 Thursday with the opening of training camp at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary.

This training camp is a fresh start for the Ants with new head coach Conner Henry at the helm, and another roster of new faces.

"Everybody's here. Everybody made it out of bed," Henry says of the 8 a.m. first workout. "First session is a lot of teaching for the young guys. This is old hat for the vets, but the terminology could be a little different.

Henry says the roster is a smaller one to start, but players should develop in his coaching style going forward.

Returning is "Mr. Mad Ant" Ron Howard, who has been with the franchise since the beginning. Howard averaged 23.5 points per game last season, leading the Ants to their first NBA Development League playoff appearance ever.
