FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Indianapolis Colts will induct two legendary running backs into the franchise's ring of honor later this season.
Pro Football Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and Eric Dickerson will be honored at halftime of the Dec. 15 game against the Houston Texans.
The Colts drafted Faulk second overall in the 1994 NFL Draft. He spent five season in Indianapolis, rushing for 5,320 yards and 42 touchdowns; and added 2,804 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. Faulk also played in three Pro Bowls before being traded to the St. Louis Rams. Faulk was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
Dickerson was also the second overall pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 1983. He was traded to the Colts in 1987, and played five seasons in Indianapolis. Dickerson is the NFL's seventh leading rusher all-time, and is probably known for his single-season rushing mark of 2,105 with the Rams in 1984. Dickerson's 11-season career included six Pro Bowls. He was a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer in 1999.
Faulk and Dickerson become the 10th and 11th people to be inducted into the Ring of Honor, and the first Hall of Famers.
