UNION CITY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - An 8-year-old boy has died after being hit by a baseball in the neck.

Authorities say Dylan Williams was playing first base during a Tuesday practice when a teammate threw a ball in Dylan's direction. Dylan did not see the ball, and was hit in the back of the neck. He fell to the ground, and was not breathing.

Dylan was taken to a Winchester hospital, then flown to an Indianapolis hospital where he died Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with the baseball league have worked to provide grief counselors to children who may have seen Dylan's accident.
