FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Three Rivers Festival kicked off Friday with a ribbon cutting at Junk Food Alley.
The music portion of the nine-day festival got off to a rocking start with former Indianapolis Colts punter Hunter Smith.
The Hunter Smith Band came to Fort Wayne with the Colts Fan Fest, which give fans to interact with members of the team.
The Hunter Smith Band took the concert stage at the Hanning & Bean Festival Plaza on Friday night.
"I like to thinkg moving forward in life, it's better to be a musician than a football player," says Smith, who retired from the NFL in 2012.
The Hunter Smith Band started in 2011, and has a country-rock sound. Smith says his ties to the Colts have really helped the band gain exposure.
"We love this crowd," Smith says. "We've been able to grow our fan base really out of a lot of Colts fans."
Colts offensive linemen and cheerleaders were also featured as part of the Colts Fans Fest.
