BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Indiana guard Remy Abell will transfer from the men's basketball program in an effort to gain more playing time.

Abell, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., averaged 3.5 points per game in 10.7 minutes per game while at IU.

"Being at Indiana has been the best two years of my life," Abell said in a statement released by the university. "I just feel at this time a fresh start and new opportunities are what is best."

Head coach Tom Crean praised Abell's contributions while Abell was in Bloomington, but says Abell is looking for a team that offers a different coaching style.

"Remy has been an outstanding citizen and a solid player for us the past two years," Crean said in the statement.

It is unclear where Abell will transfer too, but he will likely have to sit out one season under NCAA transfer rules.
