NEW YORK (www.incnow.tv) - A New York man wrongfully convicted of murder hears the words he’s been waiting more than 2 decades to hear.
“Sir you are free to go.” A judge ruled David Ranta was wrongfully charged with the murder of a New York Rabbi in 1990. New evidence and suspicion that detectives may have coached witnesses raised doubts about the case. A Brooklyn assistant district attorney admitted there was another likely suspect in the case.
For Ranta, however, Thursday was a day to celebrate his freedom. “Right now I feel like I’m underwater swimming so I can’t really just be honest with an answer because this is overwhelming,” said David Ranta.
Around 3:30pm he walked out of the courthouse with his attorney saying he was not sure what was next for him in this first hour of freedom.
