WARSAW, Ind. (21Alive) -- PolyOne Designed Structures and Solutions has announced they will be closing their Warsaw plastics plant next year, resulting in the loss of 110 jobs.
The move comes as part of a consolidation effort that the Cleveland based manufacturer announced last year. According to the notice issued to the Indiana Department of Labor, the process of closing the plant will begin on January 6, 2014 and will be completed on September 30, 2014.
The Chairman, President, and CEO of PolyOne Stephen Newlin commented on the company wide consolidation in a July 16th statement "These actions are entirely consistent with our previously announced plans to integrate PolyOne and Spartech and to accelerate our specialty transformation. By combining our resources, we expect to better serve our customers with a more competitive cost structure, improved product quality and on-time delivery with increasingly innovative technologies."
Last month PolyOne announced they would be expanding operations in India, including the construction of a brand new plant.
