Van Wert, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Five grand could be yours if you can help solve a crime.

The Van Wert County Sheriff hopes a reward will lead to the capture of the persons responsible for a home invasion that took place March 18th.

On that night the Sheriff says someone invaded the home of Daniel Hemker on Dog Creek Road shortly after midnight.

Police say the two masked intruders stabbed Hemker, then drove his vehicle off the Middle Point Quarry.

Hemker eventually freed himself and swam to safety.

A $5,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the capture of the people responsible.

If you can help out, call CrimeStoppers at 419-238-7867.
