UNDATED (www.incnow.tv) --- Americans everywhere paused this morning as church bells rang out - remembering the terrible horror of a week ago that snuffed out the lives of 26 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Bells at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Fort Wayne rang out promptly at 9:30 - joining voices across the nation to remember the unspeakable tragedy that took place exactly one week ago this morning when a lone gunman entered the school and began his slaughter of innocents.

Connecticut Governor Daniel Malloy declared Friday to be a "Day of Mourning" in the state. Church bells rang 26 times, then in honor of 20 students and 6 educators who were killed.
