FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Plenty of laughs could be heard downtown this weekend as "Spamalot" came to the Arts United Center.

Lovingly ripped off from the classic comedy film, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", "Spamalot" retells the legend of King Arthur and his knights of the round table in the irreverent signature style of Monty Python.

Set to an upbeat score with clever lyrics and plot twists, “Spamalot” also features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.

The 2005 Best Musical Tony Award winner is considered one of the funniest Broadway musicals of the modern age.

Fort Wayne Civic Theater's production of "Spamalot" is showing at the Arts United Center through March 9.
