FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter ) - Scandal within the Fort Wayne Community School district.

Not one, but two teachers are under police investigations. One of those investigations has been in the prosecutor's hands for weeks, but no charges have been filed.

First, Blackhawk Middle School’s principal sent home a note to parents Friday that a police investigation was being conducted regarding a staff member at the middle school. Friday’s note did not describe details of the investigation. It did include that the teacher is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

A letter will be sent home to parents of Wayne High School students tomorrow detailing the nature of an investigation with a teacher. In the letter, Acting Principal Larry Geradot reminds parents to tell their children to report any information that makes them uncomfortable to an adult in the school. According sources close to the investigation, a teacher at Blackhawk Middle School is accused of having a sexual relationship with a girl who is now in high school. The girl told police the relationship began when she was a student at Blackhawk. Sources close to the investigation tell Indiana’s NewsCenter the girl told police of numerous sexual encounters with the teacher, including instances occurring on school grounds at Blackhawk Middle School and Elmhurst High School after it was closed.

Some close to the investigation wonder why no charges have been filed considering the case has been in the prosecutor’s hands for “weeks.”

Secondly, a Wayne High School teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a girl. Sources close to the investigation tell Indiana’s NewsCenter school personnel observed the teacher embracing the female student on a school camera. The Wayne High School teacher is being investigated for inappropriate touching in a relationship, but Indiana’s NewsCenter has been told it did not involve intercourse.

District officials say they are not taking the allegations lightly. Fort Wayne Community Schools Public Information Officer Krista Stockman says, “We always want to remind our parents that our schools are safe and that we do whatever it takes to make sure that they are and that we rely on them. We rely on the kids. We rely on everyone to be partners in making sure that our schools are safe.”

Because of privacy issues, Indiana’s NewsCenter will not be naming the victims of either investigation.

Sources close to the investigations tell Indian’s NewsCenter that surveillance cameras at multiple locations within Fort Wayne Community Schools confirm the details of the allegations.
