WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.incnow.tv) - Another big issue tackled in Washington this week, same sex-marriage.

The U.S. Supreme Court looked at California’s controversial Proposition 8, the law passed by a state amendment vote that outlaws same sex marriage in that state. Their decision will have sweeping implications for states across the country considering similar bans.

Just before noon on Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court hinted that the justices do not feel prepared to issue a sweeping ruling declaring same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry.

On Wednesday, the high court will weigh the Defense of Marriage Act focusing on a provision that defines marriage as between a man and woman for the purpose of deciding who can receive federal benefits.
