FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Area middle-schoolers created and starred in their very own stage production held at the Embassy Theater.

Over the past three weeks the students created a plot, wrote lyrics, choreographed dance numbers and marketed their own production.

The goal of the SCORE! program is to immerse children into the theater business allowing them to learn everything from on stage and back stage, to the business of running a theater.

The young artists named their troupe "limited edition Theater Company", and Saturday was the last day for their play, “Spectrum.”

“This is it. They get one shot at this show so today's show is the opening and closing all in one,” Rebecca Reeder, SCORE Education Manager.

Reeder says it's hard to find kids who are able to commit three weeks to the summer program, but reaching out to schools and other art organizations brings in middle schoolers who are up for the challenge.
