FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - IPFW Men's Head Basketball Coach Dane Fife is leaving Fort Wayne to be the new Assistant Head Coach at Michigan State.

He told the team Wednesday morning that he was leaving to take the job.

Indiana's NewsCenter has confirmed that IPFW Assistant Tony Jasick will be named Head Coach in fife's place.

Fife had been Tom Izzo's top pick for the Michigan State job to fill Mark Montgomery's Assistant Coach position.

Fife has been at IPFW since 2005, and even though he recently signed a contract extension, Indiana’s NewsCenter learned the deal allowed fife to look for other jobs.

Fife's house has been on the market for more than a month, and has reportedly been sold.

We will have much more on this story, tonight, on Indiana’s NewsCenter.
