STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (www.incnow.tv) – Former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno died on this date last year.

While he had been fired by the university a few months earlier in response to the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, many in the Penn State community continued to support Paterno. That affection will again be on display Tuesday evening at a candlelight vigil to mark the anniversary of his death.

Organizers plan to light 409 candles, one for each of Paterno’s victories before NCAA sanctions stripped more than 100 of those wins.
