ALBION, Ind. (21ALIVE) --- Animals at the "Black Pine Animal Sanctuary" near Albion in Noble County didn’t wait for New Year’s Eve to get in the party spirit.

Black Pine is home to more than 100 displaced, captive-raised animals like tigers, lions, bears, and other exotic animals.

The public on Saturday was invited to watch the animals open presents from the staff.

They got piñatas, treats, and toys-- all filled with meat.

It was all part of "Animal Enrichment Day," which the sanctuary holds to help fund the added costs of winter care, including straw bedding, propane heat, hot water and more.
