COLORADO (www.incnow.tv) - The parents of a six-year-old transgender child are suing their local Colorado school district over the little girl’s access to the restroom.

Kathryn and Jeremy Mathis files a complaint against the Fountain-Fort Carson School District after they recently decided their daughter, Coy, could no longer use the girl’s bathroom at her elementary school. District officials say Colorado law doesn’t require public schools to permit transgender students to use restrooms of the gender with which they identify.

The parents say the district is violating Colorado’s anti-discrimination act.
