FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- The Shrine Circus is here for its annual visit and this time they're welcoming special guests right from our own backyard.

Some 30 performers from the Peru amateur circus in Peru, Indiana are in the spotlight, this year along with the regular Shrine Circus acts like flying trapeze, the wheel of thrills, and all kinds of animals.

For the all girl high wire act from Peru and performers from some other local acts, this is a first.

"This is massive. It's such a once in a lifetime experience," says Bill Anderson, Director of Peru Circus Operations, "It's not often that amateurs get to perform with professionals. It's like going to a baseball game, playing the Cubs or something like that."

Jordan Clark, First Year High Wire Walker, says, "We practiced so many weeks it's like a second home up on the wire now."

Tickets are still available for all Shrine Circus performances that last through Sunday evening at the Coliseum.
