UNITED STATES (www.incnow.tv) - A compound in meat and energy drinks may clog your arteries.
A new study out of the Cleveland Clinic looked at blood levels of the compound, carnitine, in 2,500 meat-eating and vegan adults. Researchers found the higher the levels of carnitine, the higher the risk for heart problems and clogged arteries.
They also found some energy drinks contain more carnitine than a Porterhouse steak leading to suggest the compound be studied more to make sure it is safe for kids to consume.
