WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Two Purdue University researchers have developed new smartphone apps designed to help gardeners fight off pesky insects and boost their garden's harvest.

The two researchers say the new apps will help gardeners solve problems and identify pests in their vegetable or flower gardens.

They say anyone can essentially become a master gardener if they "have an image of the problem" on their smartphone.

The two apps are essentially a specialized garden encyclopedia people can carry around in their pocket.
