FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- It's a new day for education in the Hoosier state.
Monday, the State Board of Education voted to make Indiana the first state to dump the federal standards called Common Core, and replace it with new academic standards.
The new standards outline what students should learn in each grade in math and language arts.
